Washington AgForestry Leadership Alumni are coordinating a trip to Hawai’i to continue their education about the natural resource industries in Maui and Oahu. Arriving in Oahu on March 22, the trip will continue through March 29, and conclude in Maui. The agenda will include networking opportunities with members of the Agriculture Leadership Foundation of Hawai’i and site visits to the State Capitol in Honolulu and a tour of the Hawai’i Agriculture Research Center.
The islands offer opportunities to potentially tour a biotech research operation, one of the last sugar plantations in all of Hawai’i, along with visits to tropical botanical gardens, pineapple and cattle farm tours, and more.
The objectives of the trip are to continue to network with fellow AgForestry Alumni, connect and learn more from Hawai’i’s Leadership Program Alumni, and develop a better understanding of Hawai’i’s natural resource industries. The Leadership trip will also include ample personal time to explore the islands and take advantage of other educational or leisure activities such as Pearl Harbor, museums, agri-tourism tours, snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, and the list goes on.Continue >
